Pleasure Craft Operator Card
RESIDENCE OF CANADA:As of September 15, 2009 all boat operators will need a "Pleasure Craft Operator Card". For those that wish to take this exam online please click on the following link to access the "Study Guide" and the "Boater Exam"
NON-RESIDENCE or CANADIANS WITHOUT A OPERATORS CARD:
Individuals renting a pleasure craft fitted with a motor are required to complete a Rental Boat Safety Check List:
UNLESS:
- They have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card
- They have written proof of completing a boating safety course prior to April 1, 1999
- They have written proof of nautical certification
- In the case of a non-residents, written proof of competency from their own country.
Those required to complete a rental boat safety check list, must carry on board the co-signed (customer and renter) section of the Rental Boat Safety Check List as proof of competency for the duration of the rental.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are required to complete a Rental Boat Safety Check List this will be done with our dock men before you leave the lodge to go fishing. Although this is not required until September of this year we will be doing this starting our opening season May 16, 2009.
