FISH THE FINEST WITH THE WATSON'S AT PINE PORTAGE LODGE

The Watson family has owned and operated Pine Portage Lodge in Northern Ontario Canada since 1946. Mr. Richard (Dick) Watson Sr. started with a rustic three room cabin on 24 acres of land on the north shore of Kabinakagami (Kaby) Lake. When he returned from World War II as a war hero, having flown 90 missions as a fighter pilot with the RCAF, Dick Sr. invested his military earnings in what was to be the beginning of his venture into the tourism business. Dick and his wife, Edna Watson, had their first paying guests in the fall of 1946.

After many years of up-grading and renovations at Pine Portage Lodge , we now offer a 6,000 square foot Main Lodge and 13 guest cabins of various sizes, providing accommodations for up to 100 guests on the American Plan and Housekeeping combined. At our fly in resort we pride ourselves on the quality of service and accommodations we provide. We operate with a staff of 25 full-time seasonal.through the summer. We offer excellent fishing for walleyes (pickerel), northern pike, as well as whitefish and perch. Fall hunts for bird, bear and moose with the choice of bow or gun.

In our continuing efforts to provide quality services, we initiated our air service, Watson's Skyways in 1986, based out of the town of Wawa, Ontario. We now provide chartered air services with our turbine Otter, Cessna Caravan on amphibious floats, and a Cessna 206. Our Caravan is an IFR equipped aircraft licensed to fly into the U.S.A., we can pick you up at an airport in your area and fly you directly to Pine Portage Lodge, or to your destination in Northern Ontario.

We are still a family owned and operated business with Betty (Watson)McGie CEO and General Manager. Our main business office is located in the town of Wawa, Ontario.
